THERMOCELL In Depth: Applications
More specific applications for Mining, Indusrial, and Construction uses of
THERMOCELL are as follows:
Construction/Building Industry
The incorporation of a high fly ash content (Typically 50% or greater) in
THERMOCELL mix designs, provides a building construction material with substantially
increased fire resistant properties. THERMOCELL can be used for construction
and building applications in the same manner as FOAMCELL, with added thermal
insulation characteristics.
Pre-cast/Tilt-up Panels are lightweight, energy
efficient and fire resistant, providing a cost effective alternative construction
material for residential and commercial buildings
Building Blocks and Bricks composed of THERMOCELL
provide the same positive characteristics as panels; for building construction
using more conventional, labor-intensive techniques
Poured-In-Place Walls offer a perfect building
construction application for THERMOCELL where lower costs, quicker completion
and energy efficiency are goals to be met
Floors and Roof Deck construction results
in fire resistant rooms for equipment and document protection, while imparting
reduced loads to structural members
Wall Insulation composed of low density THERMOCELL
can be pumped into structural forms where strength is not an issue
Industrial Applications
Firebrick Replacement Material where resistance
to extreme heat is required
Fireplace/Oven/Kiln/Furnace/Stack Linings
can be formed, or sprayed-on using THERMOCELL
Thermally Resistant Filler for the space between
the double walls of safes and file cabinets
Mining Industry
Coal Fire Suppression by direct application
on the burning material through boreholes, fractures and vents is a proven
application of THERMOCELL. Flowability and high-heat resistance combine to
extinguish mine, outcrop and stockpile fires through encapsulation, cooling
and oxygen deprivation with a high degree of safety.
Fire Resistant Barrier Construction including
ventilation stoppings and gunnite-like spray on applications along haulageways,
belt lines, roof, ribs and timbers.
